Magnetic Island

Magnetic Island is often underrated until you spend some time there with over 50% of the island national parkland. The island is the largest koala sanctuary in Australia and the place you are likely to see them in the wild. Feeding rock wallabies and catching the sun setting back over Australia from West Point beach are all on the agenda. Rent a mini 4WD between some mates and go exploring for the day is the best way to get around. Get up close and personal with the wildlife at the YHA hostel where they have their own wildlife sanctuary. Possibly the only time you can actually hug a real koala. Radical Beach a close walk form the accommodation is one of the best swimming beaches on the island.
